About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep on smiling!

ABOUT ME

John and I met at a mutual friend's drum circle on Halloween in Evergreen, Colorado many-a-years ago. I lived in Denver, Co for two years and worked at non-pro
fit organizations with kids. We spent a year saving up money and fixing up our truck/pop-up camper to run on veggie oil in order to drive from Mexico to Panama and back. We stayed in Guatemala for about 5 months of the trip working and playing. We got introduced to couch surfing in Mexico and were able to stay with some wonderful people all throughout Central America. We are now living in Tucson with our two young kids.

PHILOSOPHY

At this moment in my life this quote sums it up: “Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” - Miriam Beard

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

John and I are looking forward to meeting people through CS. It has been so wonderful being able to surf and host. I am still always amazed at how the internet can bring people together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We couch surfed through Central America... and even hosted a few in our pop up camper! Thanks to everyone who we met along the way.

Interests

Being active (hiking, snowboarding, yoga, running, rock climbing, biking, roller skating, walking the dogs, etc...), language and culture, the stories people share, books, music, sustainable building, gardening, fresh food, cooking... and raising chickens in our backyard.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was living in Denver, I worked really early and my car broke down, it was about 5am (still dark out) and as a man helped me push my car out of the street. We both looked up in the sky and saw a Russian satellite crashing to earth. It was a fiery burning mess speeding toward us and then it vanished.

Traveling by veggie-oil truck from Mexico to Panama (staying in Guatemala for 4 months) and back was a trip of a lifetime.
