About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to live an authentic life. make new friends and interact with them in a meaningful way, share life-changing ideas with each other and live life deliberately, creating unforgettable memories.
ABOUT ME
born and raised in a conservative family in Anytown, USA, I haven't always been the polished curious, fun-loving, free-thinking, Spanish-speaking, vegan, social anarchist that I am today. The last few years I've been getting into the lifestyle and sport of bicycle touring and I adopted a female border-collie mix dog to join me on my adventures around America. The life of ever-changing scenery and carefree exploration and discovery suits us beautifully, as well as reminds of us the preciousness of old friends and home.
PHILOSOPHY
1. when in doubt err on the side of recklessness 2. if you're not having fun, lower your standards 3. excitement is the goal not necessarily happiness. boredom is the enemy 4. live an authentic life
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love cooking and don't mind washing dishes. I post a lot of my trips in my van on craigslist rideshare and I pick up hitch hikers. Also, my family hosted many exchange students when I was a kid mostly from Germany but also from Venezuela, which made a huge impact on my life.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i just had my first official surfing experience which happened to be in Philadelphia and I had a blast with some hilarious, fun-loving Jewish musicians and all their girlfriends in a sort of college-partying, collective-living house.
Interests
bicycle touring, writing about adventures, dumpster diving (freeganing), dogs (I have a very smart, well-behaved and socialized, 35 pound, female border collie mix dog), cooking ethnic vegan food (Indian, Asian, Ethiopian, Mexican), card games

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was an exchange student in the Canary Islands, Spain for one year in 1996. I once climbed a water tower in Kansas with some buddies and swam all night inside, in our private spherical swimming pool in the sky. I just hopped my first freight train like a hobo for 100 miles in Kansas and am dreaming of a North American rail tour maybe in 2011. And I've been hosting couchsurfers since before I even heard of couchsurfing. I once hosted 14 Peruvians (12 girls, 2 guys) simultaneously in a very tiny apartment in the Colorado Rockies. I dubbed it the Never-Ending-Peruvian-Pajama-Party!
