ABOUT ME

I currently take part in a counter-cultural vegan anti-capitalist collective. We have a house of culture (called CASA) where we organize events envolving music, political discussion, film exhibiting, freegan food and more. Our goal is to decentralize the monopoly of speech production means and create a reference center at our city for cultural/political resistance. We have some ongoing projects related to this space, among which a music studio, a library, a graphic studio and a kitchen-garden. Their still embrionary, but things are really starting to happen.
My friends also have a vegan food coop which frequently give vegan cooking lessons at the house. I don't have problems hosting non-vegans. Although it is something to be considered and of my preference, the rest of my family ain't even vegetarian.
I'm a recently graduated biologist and I'm starting to work with education and getting envolved in a project for cultivating native flora species to be used in enviroment restoration programs.
My "outside" education came basically from hc/punk independent gigs, and most of my friends are currently straight edge, but there are considerable exceptions, including myself.

I have 1 musical project with huge revolution summer influences on hiatus but working on a record release in the near future and other two musical endeavors ongoing, being one with more introspective influences such as joy division, neurosis and silver mt. zion, and the other a recent with one of my band mates on the other two and my brother. This last one is basically two bass guitars, some cool effects and eletronic elements.

My intention with CS is basically to get in touch with different cultures, practice my english (knowing that sometimes the guest will be the ones practicing portuguese with me) and to contribute to a net of collaboration with no financial exchange. Coming from a scene where D.I.Y. and communitarism are some of the main pilars, I believe in many kinds of "mutual aids" and that by participating in CS I will be contributing to a network of support that squats throughtout the world have already been enforcing for quite sometime.
