About Me
Currently traveling in South America!
I regularly jump out of airplanes for fun. That should tell you something about me!
People keep asking me if I'm a student, presumably because they assume I'm much younger than I am. I sometimes reply with "Actually, I'm kind of retired." I started a company when I was 19, and it's at the point where it runs without me. I'm fortunate that I'm at a stage in my career and life that I have the flexibility to go anywhere.
I've lived my whole life in Canada, and lately I've begun thinking about what it would be like living in another country. I'm also spending this year deciding on what to do next in my career, which will probably involve starting a different kind of business.
"Most people tiptoe through life, just to arrive safely at death. Do not tiptoe. Run, hop, skip or dance, but do not tiptoe."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting people from various cultures. A nice thing about Toronto is that there are so many people from so many different places. Every time I talk to someone who has lived elsewhere, I get an itch to travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I like the idea of meeting people who live in the area. It's certainly more interesting than staying at a hotel. I've couchsurfed a few times, and have met numerous couchsurfers over the years. I find that they tend to be some of the most interesting people around!
Interests
I skydive, scuba dive, and generally I'm always looking for new experiences. Meeting local people when I travel has been the best way to experience a place, and I've often found out about places and events that I might not have otherwise found.
My company runs on a "shared leadership" model, meaning that there are no "bosses," and no hierarchy. Alternative forms of business structures are really interesting to me.
I've been vegan since 1997, and I enjoy discovering new vegetarian restaurants. Strangely, it's mostly just desserts that I remember.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing experiences that I've had was walking over burning coals, that just had gasoline poured over them, with flames that reached halfway up to my knees. It was surreal, because the body doesn't understand how to react, so the feeling is like doing something that should not be possible.
My first skydive was similar in that way.
Teach, Learn, Share
After you complete 200 skydives, I can teach you to fly a wingsuit! I'm a wingsuit coach. And yes, flying a wingsuit is one of the most amazing things you can possibly do.
I have a lot of insight on starting and running a business.
I'm also quite well read on nutrition, vegan food, etc.
Also, I'm happy to share travel info, of course!
