About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Re-discovering voluntary simplicity
ABOUT ME
I'm an easy going, friendly vegan girl... attempting to move little by little toward an ecological lifestyle despite being surrounded by an unecological society. I'm involved here in the urban ecology movement. Quite busy lately, though all with stuff that I enjoy and value :)
PHILOSOPHY
I like the "do no harm" philosophy... I'll move toward it slowly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed (thanks!) and hosted too. I was really impressed by everyone's openness and generosity when I surfed. Since moving to Quebec City I've had about 15 people come to stay, and they've generally left well-fed :)
Interests
Thinking, talking, listening, and re-thinking. Voluntary simplicity, sharing-based economy, re-creating visions of success in the modern world. Meeting animals, eating vegetables.
Super slow long-distance biking, wildharvesting clover and saskatoon berries, making soya yogourt under my pillow, eating the delicious fresh food from my vegan reggae farmers, and practicing "extreme gardening", the art of growing plants in implausible places. Playing, juggling, hackey-sack, circus, balancing, fun. Flower stick aficionado. Walking, hiking, meandering, jaunting, and sometimes even strolling. Snowshoeing, sunsets, and beaches with fossils. Mountains, caves, ruins, cliffs, choppy oceans, broken seashells, crags, rocks, forests, trees, moss, lichen, and cacti.

Music, Movies, and Books
La Belle Verte is the best movie ever (ecological englightenment, vegetarianism, and rad circus skills! Whoa!) And some clever person even youtubed it with English subtitles for your viewing convenience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5CmMm_SRpM
For books, I adore Wild Fermentation by Sandor Katz, as well as Ishmael and Story of B by Daniel Quinn.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching rescued turkeys jive to reggae music at Animal Acres sanctuary... pretending to be a turbomatic blender in front of hundreds of school children while performing with Otesha... growing gardens directly on my bicycle while riding across Ontario (and you can too)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to juggle. Just ask. So-called "poor coordination" poses no barriers :)
