Travelling is not just about to see new places and meet new people , but it is about knowing yourself better too.

I have heard the saying "Travel far enough, you meet yourself" .. and I think that this is true, because there are many things and certain type of thinking and behavior that your family members, your friends or your community may approve and you may think that they are cool, but if you get the chance to get out of your "shell" and meet with other people from another culture you will learn not only new things, but can learn to see the things that you already know in a different way and from a totally different perspective. And this kind of experience is what will open new horizons for you which will help you grow and become a better human being.

What I like about couchsurfing is that for any place that you visit, you have the incredible opportunity to feel it, sense it and taste it same as the local people do. ( which is not possible even if you get the best travel arrangement package available in any tourist agency or even if you stay in the most luxurious hotel with unlimited number of stars )

Couchsurfer hosts are the best source of knowledge about the culture of a country as from them you can learn in practice the things that you may read in books, articles and magazines or hear in the news or radio, but you will never be able to truly understand them, unless you have the chance to meet and talk with a local person from the respective country

Interessen

I have great interest in history and culture but also for human behavior and psychology, filosofy, sociology and I enjoy conversations that cover these topics. I also like to learn new languages and I like linguistics as a subject (analyzing and comparing similarities and differences between languages), because I have studied linguistics in my College Years.

Recently I have started to get interested in Dances, mostly Latino but other dances also and martial arts, but beside getting the theoretical knowledge and taken few classes for Rumba, Salsa and Cha-Cha-Cha I haven't done much in this are of my interests, but it is still a "work in progress" and I hope that I will improve this area in the future.

In general I like to see, read or hear things that have some meaning and from which you can draw a conclusion and learn something from it and I also like motivational/inspirational Books/Songs/Movies who make you feel good and give you energy to do something valuable

History and lessons learned from life, but also jokes, because life doesn't have to be taken too seriously all the time and the best way is if you learn to find the comic side even from the most difficult situation, that way you will keep your balance and maintain your happiness
