About Me

*I don't live in the city center.
*There is no electricity.
* The shower is in the kitchen and the toilet is a compost in the garden

I have finished my straw bale house, and I am now ready to host. Disclaimer: There is a great chance of having to join in on a natural building project, if you are staying at my house, when you are not exploring Copenhagen and the surroundings. So if you have the urge to know and practise natural building, you are more than welcome to swing by. I cannot guarantee that something is going on while you are here though. Natural building means using your body to construct things with trees, straw, sand and mud. If you haven't tried it, you will love it.

I'm one of those persons who go from one big project to the other. After finishing my journalism bachelor, I thought that it's time for living, so I started a café. Later I cycled to North Cape, once I had a translating career in Cambridge, but then I had the chance to get a new political party into government and now the house. When I'm 60 I want to sail around the world.

I have a convertible daybed or a caravan for two people. It's a small house, so more than two guests are maximum, unless you are bringing a tent for the garden.

PS. I get a lot of requests. If I can see you didn't bother to read my profile, I will automatically decline your request.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to host and to surf. Couchsurfing gave me many joyous memories that I share with my hosts, surfers and friends. Some of the friendships I have prevailed over time. I hope to make more of those.

Interests

Natural building, right now straw bale. Driving around Europe in my car with my girlfriend, meeting my old colleagues in my old club in Christiania and taking a shift once in a while. Concerts and festivals (looking forward to see what the summer will bring), hiking - so many places to hike still!

And my big passion - vegetarian cooking

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend and I rented a pedal boat on the main river in Prague, where Goran Bregovic was playing a concert on a stage in the middle of the water. Among a flurry of boats I felt the desire to take off my clothes towards the end of the concert. Bregovic started playing 'Kalashnikov' and I jumped in the water to listen to some 10 seconds of this piece of fantastic music under water to come back to the surface with enough thrill and happiness to let it be the last moment of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to know more about sustainable life designs. I also want to teach you about it.

I love to share a meal that we cook together. I will be thrilled if you bring/cook some food that is special from your country.

I speak a number of languages that we can practise. Scandinavian languages, English, German, Russian, French, Spanish.

If you have doubts about something in your life, I really love to help you trying to see things differently and find your path.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I usually do not bring gifts. It can happen, but you should not expect it. I bring myself, which I hope is good enough. Meanwhile, I do not expect gifts either. But who can say no to chocolate and booze?
