About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Imogen and I are planning to travel India, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the US for 8-9 months from July 2013

ABOUT ME

This is an account for an English couple: James and Imogen. Here is a bit about each of us:

James:
I was born and raised in Felixstowe in Suffolk (East Anglia), England. I studied Geography and Climate Change at Coventry University for 5 years, including a placement year studying Earth Science at the University of Iceland. I am very much into sports, particularly football, tennis and badminton. I support Newcastle United in football and follow numerous other sports when possible. I represented the university for both football and badminton and continue to try to play as much as possible.
Ever since a family holiday to South Africa in 2001, I have had the urge to travel and see all of the world I can. I have travelled to Iceland, Greenland, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, USA, western and central Europe so far, with plans to conquer India, southeast Asia and Australasia over the next year.
I have found that being English means I can converse with many many people in the world and for this I am truly thankful.
Feel free to contact me, even if it is just to say hello!
James :)

Imogen:
I am originally from Lymington on the South Coast of the UK. Now I am Coventry based after studying Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at University here. Currently I am the President of Coventry Students' Union. Due to finish end of June 2013 to start our world tour! I love adventures, especially snowboarding after I spent 3 months in Kicking Horse, BC, Canada training to be an instructor in my gap year. I have done a fair amount of travelling already, but I want to see all corners of the world!

PHILOSOPHY

Live life while you are young. Its NOT because you cant when you are old, its because you CAN while you are young.

You only get each day once, so you may as well enjoy it, be happy and have fun!

Interests

Travelling.. of course!

James:
I love to learn, and topics like astrophysics, earth sciences, physical geography, space, climate and weather, history, archaeology and ancient history are my many passions. As well as my university material, I like to read about these subjects in my spare time. The history is also a spur for me to travel to certain areas of the world.
I am an avid sports fan. I try my best to follow many sports, such as football, rugby, badminton, tennis, F1, snooker and golf. My real interest is football and I have the traditional family-influenced task of supporting Newcastle United.

Imogen:
At University I have been on the badminton team, but my love is with travelling and adventure activities such as snowboarding! Studying Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at uni has fueled my ambition to run my own business at some point and I always come up with new ideas for businesses!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

James:
Travelling to Greenland and spending a week living in an inuit village with 11 other students in a house. Seeing/experiencing their culture and the environment in which they have to live really gives you an appreciation of how hard it is just to survive. Dog-sledding, ice-fishing, building an igloo, and seeing drum-dances and their use of the seal. Hard to put into words just how different, hard and incredible this place is. Safe to say it will be very hard to find a place like this anywhere else in the world.

Imogen:
I loved living in the mountains for 3 months in Canada on my gap year. It was fantastic snowboarding everyday and having the beautiful mountain views. It was impossible not to relax and be happy!
I also loved scuba diving in Egypt. I couldn't get over how beautiful and colourful the fish and coral was.
