About Me

Hi! I’m Velmurugan from Tamil Nadu, India 🇮🇳
I’m a civil engineer by profession and currently pursuing my law (LLB) degree. I’m passionate about learning, exploring cultures, and connecting with people from different walks of life. My interests range from architecture and construction to legal systems, travel, and meaningful conversations.

I believe every place has a story — and I love hearing it from the people who live there

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel like a local, not a tourist. Couchsurfing gives me the chance to share real experiences, make new friends, and understand cultures beyond landmarks and guidebooks. I value trust, respect, and kindness — and I always try to give back in every way I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most unforgettable experiences of my life was trekking the Velliangiri Hills in Tamil Nadu — often called the “Kailash of the South.” It’s a sacred and intense pilgrimage that took me across seven steep hills, covering over 6,000 feet in elevation.

The trek tested every part of me — physically, mentally, and spiritually. It took several hours through dense forest paths, slippery rocks, chilling winds, and narrow climbs, but the reward at the top was absolutely worth it. Standing there, above the clouds, near the ancient Shiva temple, with the entire world below me, was a moment of deep silence, awe, and inner peace.

That trek taught me patience, strength, humility — and a deeper connection with nature and myself.
