About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I like to help people and figth to change the world a better place to live

ABOUT ME

I like adventures. Since I was student, I used to travel in Brazil by hitchhike. I used to camp too.
So I know all the most important cities of my country, including some of the Amazon jungle.
After traveling in Brazil I began to know South America with college friends, hitchhiking and using backpack. The first trip was to Bolivia and Peru, then we returned by Chile, Argentina and Uruguay (about 2 months). During college time, I lived in a students house with 110 students.
In 1977 I and my girlfriend traveled from Brazil to Canada by land, hitchhiking for about one year.
We visited the Inca's, Asteca's and Maya's ruins in Peru, Colombia, Equador, Guatemala and Mexico and stayed in USA. In Canada we worked picking fruits in Britsh Columbia during the summer. The weather was so hot that all guys used to stop working at 10 ó clock and go to swim naked in the Okan Agan Lake.
Nowadays I'm married, have a daughter (29), got older, for this reason our last trips are in conventional way (planes and hotels).
I think that traveling like I used do before one can enjoy more the trip, know more people, make more friends and have more opportunities to have unforgettable moments.
I and my family love to travel, but for us it's impossible to go to all places we want in the conventional way, because it's too expensive.
We love the nature, the animals and people. For this reason in our house we recicle materials, use rain water, prepare seedling, plant trees and we work for social organizations (NGO's).
I have hundreds of stories about my trips.
i like to speak other languages, so I've been studying and learning Spanish, Italian, French and English languages.
I hope someday speak those languages very well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´m sure I´ll enjoy it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I imagine I have experienced couchsurfing in the 70's when I traveled from Brazil to Canada by hitchhike with my girlfriend for about one year.
First, in Bolivia a college friend offered a couch. Then in Colombia and USA we stayed in houses of friends we have made during this trip.
Hitchhiking in USA, a guy showed us the Big Fat Trees Forest and after that invited us to stay in his home. We knew in California some people that was living in a collective farm. They used to stay naked most of the time and lived like were just one family. I think they were heirs of the hippies philosophy.
In Canada we stayed in another collective farm (Tassaday Farm)on the Okan Agan Valley, in the British Columbia. They offered us a tip (Apache tent) to sleep.
Well, we had a camping tent and one day, hitchhiking in USA we had to sleep beside the highway. The next day we waked up in the morning and there was a lot of cows around our tent.
My experience in Couchsurfing was very nice in Amsterdam, Bruges, London and Bordeaux.
I've hosted some couchers in my house too.
