About Me

I consider myself to be an open minded and caring person. I like hearing people's stories and am a good listener. I started an anthropology bachelor recently and that made even more curious about other people, their lifestyles and customs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like connecting places with people and their stories, and I think Couchsurfing is a great way to make those connections. Also, I want to challenge my stereotypes by meeting new people.

If you are sending me a request to be hosted, please make sure you read my profile. Make sure to write me a personalized message. I want to know more about you, so it's important that your profile is complete. Messages that seem copy-pasted or generic will be declined without explanation.

Couchsurfing is not for free. Somebody is opening your home without knowing anything about you except what they've read on your profile. I remember the first time I signed up on CS, I was not so sure how to go about it. There are many articles on the internet explaining how to use CS and in general the goals of the platform. Maybe would be useful for you to read some of them, if you are also not so sure: for example, https://www.nomadicchica.com/blog-how-to-be-couchsurfer/
Please start your message with “yoghurt” to show me that you read what I wrote ;)

Interests

I like the social aspect of cooking and enjoy it mostly when I cook with and for other people. I can cook you some traditional Bulgarian meal and would love if you can share a recipe traditional for your country, or even better - teach me how to prepare it!

Music has always been part of my life, I started playing piano when I was a child and later on sang in a couple of choirs. Now, I live in Berlin and funnily, it was only then when I moved here, that I joined a Bulgarian choir and started learning traditional Bulgarian folklore. So I can maybe sing you some Bulgarian songs, and I have some knowledge about Balkan traditions.

Music, Movies, and Books

A book that is very dear to me is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. As for music, I'm always open to new genres. I like live music but dislike concerts in huuuge halls, so the perfect atmosphere to listen to live music would be in some smaller venue, which allows for some personal communication between the artist and the audience. Recently I am going to some live jazz gigs in Berlin, so if you are into that too, we can go together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sang traditional Bulgarian songs on one of South Korea's national radios.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like cooking a lot, so I can try to make you some traditional dish for my country. Also, my stories about traveling, life in Bulgaria and Germany, lots of laughs and positive mindset. I also sometimes appreciate more serious personal conversations :)
