About Me

In August of 2022 I will begin a trip to Europe starting in Norway. I plan to do various Workaways and pilgrimages/hiking in Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Bosnia, Albania, Bulgaria and Turkey throughout the course of 6 months or so :-). I am traveling with my best friend Autumn who I met at University in Wyoming, USA.

I have travelled a lot in South America, living in Brazil for 1 year when I was 17, and most recently I lived in Ecuador for 6 months. I also studied abroad in Bulgaria while attending Uni so I am very interested and drawn to the Balkans and Eastern Europe and am really looking forward to exploring and getting to know that area and culture better on this trip. We are both very pro sustainable living practices, anti-imperialism, and LGBTQ rights.

I grew up in a rural area of the Rocky Mountains of the United States and have always loved to travel. I love the outdoors but also enjoy city walks. I am fascinated by the arts and love theatre, dance, artwork, literature and architecture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe it is possible that there is still a world in which people can volunteer their space and company out of the kindness of their own hearts to benefit fellow travelers who are getting to know the area. I am not a tourist that enjoys expensive resorts or consumerist/overconsumption type things. I will jump on any opportunity to embrace the culture of any host country and the best way to do this is by interacting with locals. Travelers have a deep multicultural connection that we all thrive from and couchsurfing is a way for us to find each other and benefit from this affordable interaction.

Interests

I love to get outside and move around, orienting myself to my surroundings and getting to know the nature reserves and parks in the area. I also love enjoying a show or concert and delicious food or a fun night out.
