About Me

READ FIRST!

- I’m not here for looking sexual and/or romantic relationships. If you think Couchsurfing is a dating site, then get out of here. This site is for meeting people around the world, not for mating.

- If you’re a straight man and born in an Arabic country, then don’t contact me at all. This is due to the cultural differences and opinions we have, I think our world views are too different. I’m not saying you’re all alike, but I have come up with this conclusion based on my experiences and we likely won’t enjoy each other’s company. I don’t like the way women and especially sexual minorities are treated in your countries. With this, I’m referring to for example not letting women to get a drivers license and giving a death sentence to people based on their sexual orientation. In case you’re a straight man from some Arabic country and you’re literally doing something to improve the rights of women and sexual minorities in your country, then feel free to contact me. I’m happy to hear what you are exactly doing to make things better. Otherwise, if you’re an Arabic man contacting me, I assume you’re homosexual/bisexual/pansexual/spectrasexual/transgender/intersex/asexual/graysexual/queer. I‘m happy to show you some gay bars in Helsinki. LGBTIQ+ people are always welcome.

- Include to your first message why you’re contacting me and a bit about who you are. Messages lacking this information will not be answered and will be flagged as spam or lacking information.

- I don’t accept friend request from people I haven’t met.

- I’m between agnostic and atheist, meaning that I respect religions to a certain point. I believe that living life, like there would be another one waiting for you, is a waste of this life. Though, it’s not too bad to think that so called soul wouldn’t only exist as a part of your brain, but that there would still be something after.

- I’m lacto-ovo-pesco-vegetarian, meaning that I don’t eat mammals or poultry. Nothing against meat eaters.

- I’m a part of the worldwide high IQ society Mensa and I really like to analyze, pretty much everything.

- I’m also a part of sexual minority, so I expect you to be LGBTIQ+ friendly. 🙂

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to offer my place for guests and hear about different countries, also get to know new people and new cultures (or new things about those cultures I’ve already learned something before). The main reason is, that I want to offer people a possibility to travel with a low budget. I believe traveling brings understanding towards other people. Making it a bit more affordable, makes the world a bit better place.

I’m also aiming to travel to every country in the world + some territories. Soon I have visited 50% of Europe. 🙂

Music, Movies, and Books

Finnish pop rock band Haloo Helsinki! is one of my favorites. I listen to many different genres and artists, but the most interesting genres to me are pop, pop rock, rock and classical music.

Movies Bye Bye Blondie by Virginie Despentes and Carol, directed by Todd Haynes. Studio Ghibli movies in general and The Before Trilogy. Pulp fiction is a great movie too! I’m aiming to watch all the most classical movies. The least appealing genre for me is comedy, unless it’s dark humor.

I mostly read non-fiction books and I’m very interested about psychology. My favorite form of fiction is poetry, which I really like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve literally traveled around the world in the summer 2018.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn more Icelandic, Swedish, French and Spanish languages.

I’m interested in cultures and would like to learn about yours. 🙂

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share information about Finnish culture and if you’re interested, I can tell you about Finland and what to see there.
I can also share some information from different countries I’ve travelled to, especially about Iceland, where I lived for few months.
The platform Workaway is familiar to me, so if you want to know how combining volunteer work and traveling works, just ask.
