Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Vera and I'm a 21-year-old scandinavian girl from Denmark. I am open-minded and curious, and eager to meet new people.
I play the piano, but also do my best to get better at making electronic music. While travelling I bring a small ukulele just for the fun of it.
I'm home from a 9months travel that took me through living as a teacher in rural Nepal, trekking in the Himalayas, travelling all the way from Northern India with its sandcastles ad colorful people, to the lush green jungles in the south, in the blue trains with the curious locals. I've worked as a waitress on a small island in Greece, hitchhiked across the Kanto-region and played music in a traditional japanese house with a view of Mt. Fuji.
I miss these things so much, so this spring I want to go traveling again, and my first stop will be Paris in April.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had the best experiences staying with couchsurfers in everything from uptown Tokyo apartments to small traditional-style Japanese family houses in the countryside, and in Greece as well. It all was so much fun, so I just want to continue.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a wide mix of everything from Jimi Hendrix to Jan Johansson.
When it comes to movies, I am a huge fan of Wes Anderson and Hayao Miyazaki.
The best book I have ever read is probably Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns. I love to read, and currently I am reading Tolkien (again again).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked from Copenhagen to Barcelona in five days when 16 years old.
Teach, Learn, Share
In Denmark I teach the piano to kids, and work as a barista. I'm also able to teach English (or Danish, if anyone would be interested) I would love to learn anything you can teach me - be it language, magic tricks, philosophy, juggling, instruments or a really good board game! Or we could just take a good old Pokémon match - I'll beat you. Oh and I love cooking - if you know a good recipe, teach me! :)
Countries I’ve Visited
