About Me
Hello everyone!! :)
My name's Věra and I am currently living in Prague, Czech Republic (not Czechoslovakia, Czechia, or even Chechnya). I am studying Theatre Theory and Critique, which means I have fun studying art and theatre, but I probably won't have a job relating to my major after school.
It is utterly hard to describe myself when I do not really know who I am. If I was asked to pick ONE word to describe myself, I'd answer: "doesn't follow instruction." So let me write myself down in individual points and I leave the final picture on your imagination.
° I can resist anything but temptation. And 'oh my', there are so many!
° My decision-making skills resemble a squirrel crossing the streets. I'd rather roll a dice than to torment my brain with the impossible task to decide something.
° I rely on miracles. I don’t believe in them.
° Out of all the religions in the world, I learned that bokononism (made up in a sci-fi book by Kurt Vonnegut) is the only realistic one.
° I speak my mind. I never mind what I speak. Gets me in troubles.
° I think of myself as an pessimist. Yet, my family and friend swear I am an optimist, which makes me even more pessimistic.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I am a bit of a misanthrope, I am constantly trying to meet new people who'd change my "pessimistic" view of humankind. Just kidding. There are so many amazing and beautiful places on Earth that it is inevitable that there are equally amazing and beautiful people living in them. And I'd love to meet some of you!

Music, Movies, and Books
I've been fascinated by words eversince I learnt to understand them - first through my parents' bedtime readings and then through books. Words are probably the thing that brought me to study theatre, because whatever you say on the stage resonates inside the audience's mind (and luckily even in soul). I swear I must take a photo of my bookshelf because I cannot pick my favourites. Lets put it like this: Appolinaire - Aristotle - Bukowski - Baudelaire - Carroll ... - Morgenstern - ... - Orwell - Pratchett - ... - Vonnegut - ... Zola. And basically everyone in between who knows how to use words to create a new world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've never broken any bone in my body, which is almost a miracle considering how clumsy I am and how often I fell from stairs.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach - I'm willing to share any knowledge I posses, just ask for it!
Learn - I'd love to learn about your city and culture, maybe some words in your native language! The key to a lasting peace is understanding and acceptance after all. I also LOVE to learn how to cook different foods and I can share my own recipes and if we can find the ingredients for it, I would LOVE to cook them with you! And if you happen to enjoy alcoholic beverages, 'tasting' your culture sounds even better.
Share - I can share friendship, knowledge experience, really lame art jokes, passion for travelling, and gummy bears...? But do not touch my toothbrush.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a good cook!
There's that.
