About Me

I'm an open-minded and happy person!

Let me introduce myself briefly: I am a master student in environmental change and policy and active in NGOs and Green youths in Finland. My dream would be to work in an environmental organisation one day! I live together with my boyfriend Arttu, he's a DJ and event manager, so with us you can see the best of Finnish cultural scene and nightlife :) I love to cook and to explore different cuisines; Thai, Italian, Middle Eastern... The world of flavours are amazing! I'm outgoing, smiling and I laugh really loudly(sorry!) but still find myself often worrying about the issues in the world and I also like to engage in deep conversations.

PHILOSOPHY

Gandhi: “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed.”

~H.H.The Dalai Lama: "The planet does not need more 'successful people'. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds. It needs people to live well in their places. It needs people with moral courage willing to join the struggle to make the world habitable and humane and these qualities have little to do with success as our culture is the set. "

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Extremely positive. I started in CS in 2009 when I was travelling in Barcelona and I'm amazed how there can be so many friendly, generous and open-minded people ready to welcome you at their house, at a party or anything! Even if the people on couchsurfing are all different, we share the same idea so it has been really cool getting to know other couchsurfers around the world! It's great I have been able to do my own part for this community. When I lived in France I hosted people from Turkey, Canada, England, Mexico etc. plenty of good moments :)

One of my most memorable couchsurfing experiences was when I traveled around Morocco with my sister. We were hosted by many generous moroccans who opened their doors and shared their dinner table with us and I'll never forget it.

Lately I haven't been really active on couchsurfing, because I lived in Joensuu and there weren't many couchsurfers, but I would like to engage more again, because it's an unique way to meet new interesting people and have unforgettable memories!
