CURRENT MISSION

I was an au pair for 12 months in the States and I am about to start my last month, which is known under au pairs as the "travel month". I'll try to see as much of the States as possible.

ABOUT ME

My name is Vera, I am almost done with my exchange year in the United States. When I first got here, I had this vision of changing the world. Now, I have to admit, it changed me. I am a completely new person and I do believe, I am a better person now. I totally love the American way of life. I love the southern hospitality and I really appreciate the American kindness (I learnt how grumpy Germans can be)
I am very attached to little children and dogs. I'd consider myself as very laid-back and easy going, but at the same time very ambitious if I really want something. I compete with myself. I'll try to be every day a better person than I was yesterday.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that every person is special and can teach you something you never even thought of. I think by meeting new people your own personality develops and by meeting new cultures a lot of new doors open for you

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I work as an au pair, that means I live with a host family and I help them raising their children. Now, I work 45 hours a week, but I literally have the best job in the world. I enjoy and appreciate every day I can spend with my wonderful people in Dallas, TX

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only made good experience on CS for now. I met some wonderful people and I am very glad this community exists.

Interests

I like to go outdoors, I tend to get bored inside, but a good book or a game always helps. I like to play tennis or swim. I don't like to run, however I do it in Cities I haven't been before just to breath "new" air and to get a first impression. I like Music although I'm a terrible singer. I am very passionate about animals/pets. All my dogs in Germany (that live with my family now) are saved from shelters. I'm very interested in other languages and cultures and I appreciate everybody that teaches me new stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tyler Ward and Taylor Swift. I also enjoy Musicals a lot.
I don't like to watch TV. I think it's a boring activity, that makes boring people. However, if it's a group activity and you still be social during (talking etc) I"m OK with that.
I'm a huge Harry Potter Fan

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the Niagara Falls :) I've been to so many cities it"s hard to pick special ones. I'm very blessed I got to travel so much. Thanks to my amazing parents. I really enjoyed Paris at Night and I liked eating Tapas in Barcelona. I also liked having a cup of Tea in London or to eat some Pølser in denmark!

I'd love to share my experience about all the cities and cultures I got to know.
I could teach tennis, soccer or kickboxing or meditating :) I could also teach some German, but it's a hard language,
