About Me

ABOUT

I live in Offenbach, where I share a flat with three wonderful people. During the week most of us are occupied with working or studying, but on the weekends we often hang out together, playing video games, drinking, conversing, and so forth.

I am really not good at taking pictures of myself, so the best I could find was one showing me with two other friends... I'm the girl on the left!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My former housemates have hosted Couchsurfers, but since my room was very small I haven't done so yet myself. So even though I haven´t personally hosted anyone so far I have been able to get to know very nice and interesting people over the last couple months and I decided to try it myself now.
People who would like to visit me could sleep on either of two couches in our living room, or .

When I was traveling in Israel Couchsurfing helped me meet great new people who were able to show me around and tell me about places I otherwise would not have found.

Interests

.... are fairly wide spread :) I'm currently doing a Masters program in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience and love it (at least most of the time), and if I´m not studying (which I´m not right now) I love to read, go dancing (I´m not so fond of charts music, I rather prefer Techno, Minimal, Psytrance, Goa and such), listen to audiobooks, go for a walk, hang out with friends, drink beer, ..... and I guess many other things which don´t come to mind right now :)

I like to engage myself with politics, but honestly I'm a little tired of it these days... I´m trying myself with the critical theory and the Enlightenment (since even though I had to learn Kants´definition by heart at school I very surpysingly didn´t quite grasp it yet). Apart from that I´d place myself somwhere between anti-fascist and queerfeminist but with a lot more shades I guess... I´m pretty sure we´ll have to overcome capitalism in order to gain a society of free associated individuals, but if you have strong arguments that contradicts that, I'm open for discussions.
Furthermore I´m convinced (self-) reflexion is the way to go in order to approach a better society and to make the world a less shitty place as it sometimes seems to be.

Music, Movies, and Books

favorite music: The Lord of the Rings Triology soundtrack (especially during studying hours- the best music to relax to!)
favorite movie: The Lord of the Rings Triology
favorite books: guess what... The Lord of the Rings Triology.... Well to be honest I don´t like the Fellowship quite as much as the other two

No, The Lord of the Rings does not take up such a great part of my life (I barely read or watch it anymore), it´s just that I haven´t come across any other book or movie that I would have liked better so far.^^

Moreover I´m very fond of books on some kind of political matter (for example I´m trying myself with texts by and about Theodor W. Adorno or Max Horckheimer) but I haven´t had the courage to try the really huge works of them yet.

Right now I´m reading a fantasy novel about a witch slowly turning into a demon with quite a progressive view on society and gender-roles.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well... I guess I could teach German^^ apart from that I´m a pretty good swimmer...
Learn...? So many things that I won't even try listing them.
Share... pretty hard to say, I think that we may only find out in a conversation :)
