Resumen
Sobre mí
Couchsurfing is not Tinder, don't be surprised if I ignore you if it seems like you're using it as such. Thank you.
I'm a person who can't sit still, mentally and physically. I get bored after being in the same spot for a while, and though I love taking my time to really get to know a place, at some point it's time for me to move one. I'm a busy bee and always have something going on (when I don't have a migraine that is, which is unfortunately way too often).
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but I first came to Mexico on a Rotary exchange to Morelia, Mexico, when I was 16 and the country hasn't left my heart since. Luckily, I managed to convince my Colombian partner David to move here with me, and we've been living in Mexico City for about a year now.
I studied Anthropology and Philosophy in the beautiful city of Aberdeen, Scotland, but I'm currently working as a public security analyst, and my partner does PR for a software company. Basically we'll be able to give you two prime examples of what happens when journalists need to pay bills 😭. We both work from home, but we have plenty of room in the house for you to be able to do your own thing if you're surfing with us during the week.
We love going out to explore on the weekends, but since we both have full-time jobs, unfortunately, the time of long backpacking trips are over (for now), so we love vicariously living the travel life through the people we host.
I really enjoy cooking, even though I might not have the time to cook a very elaborate meal, but if you're hosting me or surfing with me I would happily prepare a vegan meal for you.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I love learning about different cultures and customs. With couchsurfing you really get to know the people of the city/county you're staying in and their way of life, not just the buildings and surroundings.
Intereses
I like to read and "play" guitar (I haven't practised in so long that I've pretty much forgotten how to play, but I still love the idea). I love cycling and doing water sports (I have some experience surfing, windsurfing and sailing but would love to learn more) or just being close to the ocean. I pretty much enjoy learning anything new, no matter how irrelevant it might seem; cooking a new dish, learning a language or just having a long deep conversation with someone with interesting worldviews and experiences.
As a couple, we often go hiking and camping, and if we have a bit more time we'll try and plan a trip to the beach.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
I don't have any special talents for that would make you super excited to host me but I'm sure we can have a nice time together. I'm a very out going person and I tend say yes to basically every new adventure so you won't get bored. I can try to teach you some Dutch or Spanish, we can exchange travel stories or well just whatever you're up to, and if you don't have any time to hang around with me I also don't mind, I'm not a demanding person and I'm very grateful to everyone who's willing to host me.
