About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Stay focused and keep all options open.
ABOUT ME
An urban girl on the outside, a country girl on the inside. Twice an immigrant, equal parts commie and yank, ENFP leftie sagi, what else would you like to know?
PHILOSOPHY
Because I couldn't return to the wilderness idyll of my earliest memories, I endeavored to recreate it in my stark urban reality. A one-girl mobile green space, recyclable plastic in one pocket, foraged berries in the other, camera slung over the shoulder, snack packs in my bag in case I get stranded. Having been uprooted so many times, I have learned to exist without roots, and to always be in travel mode, even (especially) in my hometown surroundings. I have learned to make connections easily and to trust wisely. To find family in friends and seek comfort in foreign pillows. To turn left when I had planned to turn right. Thank goodness my boyfriend feels the same way!

Music, Movies, and Books
Tarkovsky, Lynch, Fellini, Almodovar, films about the psychology of physical landscapes, 80's and 90s pop culture classics, British comedies, nonsensical/stoner cartoons, novels about epic journeys, books that start with maps and/or family trees, folk-pop with weird instruments, britpop, music written by shy but rather dramatic individuals, music written by guys who think they're divas, lush orchestrals. Oh, this feels like Myspace.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To be honest, I've been fairly lucky in this regard. I have seen the oldest living trees on earth, I've visited some of the most beautiful sights in California, I've gone on dates with famous people, I've met living martyrs, I've seen Northern Lights on an airplane while everyone else was asleep. It seems that, especially when I'm at a low point, life hands me something amazing to keep me going.
The truth is, you're probably very lucky too. You're online now, instead of looking for safe drinking water to sustain yourself. You've probably had amazing, unique experiences too. It's all a matter of perspective. If you believe you're lucky, then you are.
