Overview
About Me
People call me Verena or Verve.
I like running through cornfields in sunshine and through streets in the rain. I like laughing and crying and reading stories. I think houses with ivy on them are beautiful. Film making is my passion because it covers so many forms of art and because moving pictures can be fascinating. I'm introverted and extroverted at the same time. I love music but I'm scared of playing the guitar in front of people. I like those times where you stumble through life. I like tousled hair. I like deep conversations. Drawing and writing helps me when I'm in misery. I love to have strings in my hair. I like songs which are happy and sad at the same time. I think the sea and forests are beautiful. I love and left my hometown and the people living there. Sometimes I talk too much. When I was 8 years old I continuously imagined to be at Hogwarts. I stopped doing that when I was 17. I have a lot of interests and I don't want to focus on one of them because living in a diverse world makes me happy. If I had to chose one interest it would be film though. I love ambivalence and the perspective that there is no truth at all. Climate protection is very important to me and I think that there is no higher assignment for us than caring for the planet and also realising that we are not higher than any other animal. And living is easy with eyes closed, I like the Beatles.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't like sights. For me being on a different place for a little while means living there for this period. And living somewhere also means meeting people there. I created my profile for travelling but at the moment I'm more into hosting.
Interests
- Film (digital, analog) - Art generally - Drawing and Painting. in expressive stile, sometimes naturalistic and surrealistic. - Music. I started listening to Vinyl a lot, which was the most romantic thing in my life. Too romantic so I started with audio cassettes now - Reading and Writing. I write secretly. - Photography. digital and analogue.
- NGOs. In times of not having a lot of personal problems, I always get sentimental about bigger troubles. "weltschmerz" is the German borrowed word for that, I think it also exists in English. I joined Amnesty International and Greenpeace since I'm in Vienna. Didn't get better since, neither my feelings nor the world, but at least I'm trying and throwing myself in front of a whaling boat would be the best way to die (I don't want to die, to be honest).
- Planting flowers. That's my new passion.
- Sewing. That's my old passion.
- Cooking. Yes, what I had to do in order to survive after moving away from home turned out to be amazing. It's also art somehow :) I'm also a vegetarian.
- Cycling. More in order to get from A to B without using the subway than because of athletic reasons. Still I'm getting sportive at the moment, that's horrible.
- Dumpster Diving. I don't have money. That's because I don't like jobs. I still need food. I'm also very "ecological"-minded. The answer to all my problems is dumpster diving.
- Hitchhiking. That's the second answer. I love getting free from A to B.
- Yes, than there are other things like history, theater, astronomy, tai chi, sleeping, dreaming...
- arts
- books
- painting
- drawing
- music
- nature
- people
- film
