About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bring a mezcla of Mayan and typical English culture, tea and umm tequila?!?!

ABOUT ME

We are a friendly, outgoing couple. Pancho´s Guatemalan and I´m English. We met working in an NGO in Guatemala City, working with children who work in one of the biggest rubbish dumps in Central America. 8 months on we´re heading home, well I am, and Pancho´s about to get a taste of my home town. We´re both excited about being in London and the adventures we hope to have after that!

PHILOSOPHY

Help others and enjoy life, even better if you can do both at the same time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Pancho has had various couch surfers in his home, from England, Holland, Argentina and Uruguay. He really loved hearing about their cultures and learning different languages.

Interests

Apart from travelling we both really love cooking (Pancho trained for 2 years as a chef, so if you fancy some traditional Guatemalan food...), making jewellery and more importantly, new friends. Pancho loves long board (like skateboarding but with a longer board) and I love Salsa. We both love music, philosophy and new experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reggae (Cultura Profetica, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff) Dark Cycle, The Gaslight Anthem,Facundo Cabral, Hip hop, Pink Floyd, like most people, a little bit of everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, it would be Temple 5 in Peten, north Guatemala. It was a dream of mine to see Mayan temples since I was a child, and I literally cried as I stumbled upon this incredible monument in the middle of the jungle.

For Pancho, it´s Peten too, but swimming in a lake there that´s hot at night and cool during the day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I´m a qualified English Language teacher with five years experience. Pancho´s fluent in Spanish and able to teach traditional Guatemalan cooking techniques. We both love philosophy, especially Osho and Taoism.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States
