Overview
About Me
I have a teenage stepdaughter who travels with me since my Husband is a bit more of a home body.
I eventually want get my master’s in Educational Technology and travel to conferences teaching how to use different pieces of technology to increase student engagement. I also want to produce a YouTube series that gives technology advice and classroom management tips in a 15 minute comedy format that can be used to get teachers professional development credits efficiently oon their own time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel I always stay with people I met at past convention/trips. My favorite trip memories are meeting new people and expanding my world view.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Movie: Tie Brazil and Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to love the bomb.
Favorite Book: Tie Again Good Omens (Gaiman & Pratchett) and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn
Favorite Music: Broadway Musicals, Blues Alternative. My two most played albums are Tim Minchin and Ananda Palmer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught kids in Almaty, Kazakhstan (students also traveled in from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan) parliamentary procedure and held a Model United Nation conference for them. My group was sent over by the State Department.
Also while there I participated in a 175+ person re-enactment of a Lord of the Rings Battle at a ski resort. The Tolkienist Group was arrested the following year due to unrest between the Russians and Kazakh people in the area. The Tolkienists were seen as a tool of oppression stressing western culture over their more eastern mongol roots.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Since I’m disabled, I have a America the Beautiful Access Pass to National Parks/Monuments. I get myself and 3 others in for free
My husband is a chef and says I’m a good cook, but better baker than him. I’d love to cook you anything of your hearts desire. We also do Chopped basket challenges, so I can make something from random ingredients or use up that stuff you bought a year ago, but nervous to try to use.
I’m also a pretty decent photographer, and artist. I try to be a jack of all trades type of gal. Need a mural or something fixed, or someone to update all the drivers on your laptop, I can endure that tedium on your behalf.
