About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To build connections between people.

ABOUT ME

IMPORTANT: Please read my profile thoroughly. We have pets and you need to refer to them in any couchsurfing request -- are you okay with them? If your request does not specifically state that you are okay with our pets (i.e. mentioning which kind specifically), I will decline your request.

NOTE: Right now we only have a couch available in the living room. No private room is available. Before requesting make sure you are okay with a literal couch. :)

I enjoy being outside and when I am I'm usually gardening. I enjoy socializing with old friends and new acquaintances be it a low-key BBQ, trying out a new wine bar, or learning to crab at a dock in San Francisco.

I try to play bridge as often as possible as I enjoy it and want to learn to be a better player. Plus, I've played on-line with people all over the world.

Seems like I am endlessly trying to get organized. Recently started a project of reducing my garage footprint and have been sorting, releasing and smiling. And there is more to do.

I enjoy learning. taking classes, listening to TED talks, reading.

PHILOSOPHY

Couchsurfing seems like a great way to build bridges between people and cultures.

Maybe couchsurfing will save the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, we have only hosted CSers. One day I hope to also be CS and to meet wonderful hosts. I have also helped others get last minute hosts in the San Jose area when I couldn't host myself. And I've responded to requests for coffee places, things to see, and more. Trying to be a good ambassador for the Bay Area.

For years I've been the organizer of our bookclub and funfunfun group. Suggesting fun things to do and getting the word out. Or, getting the word out about fun things others have suggested.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been so grateful to friends of my family members who have let me stay with them while traveling. It has helped me understand the area so much more when I stay with a locale.
