About Me

I joined couchsurfing in August 2014 after hearing about it from my friend Dave who's been a member since 2007!!!! I'm Airbnb Host Community Leader for Michigan. I used to host international students for University of Western Ontario and we liked having people from different countries visiting. It was a cultural exchange without the travel. My husband is ex-military and currently studying a beekeeping program at University of Michigan.

If you stay with us as a Guest please follow House Rules. Since you're staying for free, a good guest is expected to do all of your own dishes and clean up after yourself.

We Host travellers only (no local stays) who have positive reviews from other Hosts.

Our Couchsurfing Account is a Legacy Account when we lived in Canada. We're now living in the US. While our previous address was verified, our new address is not able to, possibly due to Couchsurfing either being understaffed or no longer verifying address changes. We will send you the address though once we make plans.

Note: if crossing the border here, you are not permitted to do it by bicycle or walking like you can at the Windsor/Detroit crossing. Instead you must take a taxi across the bridge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We've been hosting for many years and our children are now grown. In 2018, one of my sons travelled with me to South Korea where we were the guests for the first time. We taught school for a day, babysat, did farm work, and cooked for our Hosts.

We've made some lifelong friends and hope to do more travelling now that we're retired.

Interests

Free time spent traveling with my husband, visiting with friends, involved with community theatre, cooking, playing board games. I manage a screenplay competition for a large film festival. My husband and I are both involved in veteran's organizations. I've recently started songwriting.
