Hello there, Veronika here!

I was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland and am currently taking a few gap years from studying. After graduating from upper secondary school, I felt like I needed to expand my views on the world before deciding what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, and so I found myself in Tokyo, Japan. I worked there as an au pair until April 2017. During my stay in Tokyo I met many people, experienced amazing things and learned so many new things about the world and myself. Now, after returning to my home country, I would like to keep expanding my knowledge and continue to grow as a human being.

Many people have told me that I have a very good energy around me, that I'm easy-going and my smile is contagious. Personally I see myself as someone who's very emotional, warm, caring and creative, but also a little introverted and "slowly blossoming". However I get along with people easily and in social situations I give my full 100%!

I wish to immerse myself in foreign cultures and learn more about the world, and I think the best way to do that is to meet people from all over the world. In Finland, I would be happy to share knowledge of my country and show you the best urban and nature spots and the local way of living in Helsinki area.

I am constantly seeking new interests and trying to educate myself the best I can on every possible subject. I am currently interested in languages, religion, human rights, liberal arts, literature, design, art in general, nature and outdoor activities. My hobbies include mostly reading, geocaching and different video/rhythm games. I'm also a girl scout.

I think my top three books of all time would be Watership Down (yes, the one with the bunnies), The Secret History and Gone Girl.

Quit my job in Finland and flew all the way to the other side of the world, to work and live in a country I knew almost nothing about. Obviously the best decision I have ever made.

Hiking on Europe's largest glacier was also quite cool!
