About Me

Originally from the Czech Republic, been living in New Zealand since March 2019 and found a second home here on the other side of the world.
I've done thousands of kilometres of hiking and hitchhiking down here and met some really amazing people.

Trying to figure out what I'm doing with my life next.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is not only about exploring cities and sights but also about meeting with locals and getting to know about their lives! That's the thing which is maybe more important for me than cities - people and their stories. I also love meeting people on my travels, not only locals but other travelers as well.

So far I've met many great people on CS and some of them taught me a lot. I'm really grateful for that and looking forward to future encounters.

Interests

Traveling, dogs, hiking, cooking.

I'm getting more into sustainability, conservation, slow traveling and volunteering/wwoofing. I've been also trying to learn how to use my camera properly (for years!). I'm not on Instagram and lot of people find it really weird.

Always keen to try new things and learn something interesting.
I love learning about places, studying maps, listening to stories.

I like traveling with other people but I much prefer to be on my own and meet up with people along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking Te Araroa Trail 2020-21 in New Zealand changed my life forever and I'll be forever grateful for that experience.

Planning more long distance hiking in the near future, super keen to exchange stories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some funny czech words which every foreigner I've met really enjoyed.

I usually cook for my hosts and I also love trying local cuisine (only crickets in México were not my favourites).
I can definitely share a beer with you. Or a bottle of wine.

I'm happy to help you with some projects around the house/garden.

I'm always happy to host when I can but I've been mostly surfing the last few years. I hosted a couple of people while living in my van but I only travel with a tiny tent now (even my backpack has to stay outside).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd always like to spend some time with my host but I completely understand if you don't have time for showing me around.

Sometimes I can talk way too much but I'm also really quiet some other times.
