ABOUT ME

Basically, I am NOT what you might expect a 60+ year old retiree to be.
Oh - I don't do BINGO or Golf.
I shoot pool in a couple of leagues and in an occasional tourney.
I raised my kids, after my divorce, to be independent thinkers and self-sufficient. Ironically, they are the ones that introduced me to Burning Man, although never attending themselves. (One finally made it to BM2007)
I live by my own set of rules, ethics, or morals seemingly designed to confuse the hell out of those around me...LOL.
I use 'LOL' WAY TOO MUCH. For some reason there are a lot of things that just strike me as being funny, whether they are funny to anyone else or not.
Raised in NW Indiana, I retired and moved to the desert. Absolutely LOVE THE HEAT, as anyone that actually knows me will attest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I guess the only times would be at the Black Rock International Burner Hostel in Sparks, Nevada. Have been going there for the past few years. There's always a great group of people from all over the world wandering in and out prepping for that year's Burn.

Interests

BurningMan - annual burner since 2002
I shoot billiards in leagues and in tourneys.
Read most anything, but average 2-4 books a month with varying topics.
Enjoy semi-rustic camping (ie: Burning Man)

Just bought a house in Mesa. Hope to have it furnished soon, so I can join the Hosting List..LOL

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite movie of all time is: Howard the Duck. Yes - I know - that's a little strange, but you wanted to know.
After that I would have to say the BBC Doctor Who series fascinates me.
I really like watching for the 'screw-ups' in most any movie. You know - the things that the film editor missed, or thought the viewers were to dumb to notice...LOL.
Favorite group/CD: Pink Floyd/Division Bell
Beyond that, I like something from just about every genre, including Rap.
As stated before, I read a lot. Currently seem to be picking up a lot of murder mysteries, but go through phases of Sci-fi, Westerns, Action & Adventure, War, and Philosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived a sinking ship. Might be why I have never seen Titanic. Not really into ship-sinking movies...LOL.
