Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Staying put. For now.
ABOUT ME
Tall, smiley, with unruly hair that loves to travel even more than I do. I generally tote a guitar, a book, and hiking shoes wherever I go.
PHILOSOPHY
"So, friends, every day do something
that wonât compute. Love the Lord.
Love the world. Work for nothing.
. . . .
Be like the fox
who makes more tracks than necessary,
some in the wrong direction.
Practice resurrection."
Wendell Berry
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing, for now. (Someday I'll have a house to myself and can return the favor.)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I finally got to use the site in 2012 when I circled the country; it was everything I'd hoped and more. Great people. Lovely world.
Interests
I appreciate: spicy curry, Jane Austen, hiking, dark chocolate, contra dancing, good conversation, starwatching, books, fresh air, British humor, playing and teaching music, new ideas, and hitting the road.
Guilty pleasures: being a connoisseur of Craigslist ads ("Missed Connections," anyone? No? You're missing out!). Also, really abysmal poetry -- the flat-out awful kind, I mean -- can make a girl's day.
Seriously, I like a lot of stuff. Living is the best sort of adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
That lonely, majestic moment on the top of the Scottish highlands comes to mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
Can teach: violin, fiddle, guitar, piano skills; sentence-wrangling; making and doctoring up a wicked bowl of oatmeal. Given access to ingredients/grocery store, I make pretty decent vegetarian enchiladas.
Would love to learn: more fun tunes; counting to ten in interesting languages (made-up languages don't count, unless you're J.R.R. Tolkien); your kitchen specialty, your story.
