About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I generally enjoy meeting new people, trading stories, making them laugh and seeing what makes them tick.

ABOUT ME

My life has wound it's way through many countries in the world and I've enjoyed discovering new places and new ways of looking at the world.
My main home has been in San Francisco, USA, for the past 22 years, but now I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with my fiancee, Renata. I'm a serial entrepreneur, having started a bunch of high-tech companies, and I love the challenge of it all, despite the frustrations and loads of work. In my free time, I enjoy reading, exercising, meditating, exploring a forest or just spending time with Renata.

PHILOSOPHY

Increase presence, decrease judgement, optimize for happiness and keep being curious.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started with CouchSurfing and I'm looking forward to meeting some great people.
My first experience was very positive.

Interests

I'm very curious about the world and the different attitudes that people bring to it. On one hand, I can be a book worm, reading a wide range of books and browsing through the internet without a care for what happens outside my window. And on the other hand, I love the connection I can have during a good conversation - with Renata (my fiancee), with friends or with someone new from a completely different walk of life.
I've been meditating for over 10 years and that's probably been the strongest influence on how I approach the world. I dig photography, like music (especially something that's fun to dance to like samba or funk) and enjoy dancing as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all three.
I'm an omnivore when it comes to books, but all non-fiction: history, economics, philosophy, cognitive psychology (is that what it's called), photography.
I love music that gets me moving - funk, samba, Lady Gaga, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the clouds pass by in Patagonia one late summer evening. The sun was shining through a barrel shaped hole and it looked like God was sitting inside, shining his light out from inside the cloud.
Proposing to my fiancee in the gardens of Versailles (in a rowboat on the main pond) was pretty memorable :)
