About Me

ABOUT ME

V ery friendly
E ager for knowledge
R eliable
E njoying life
N ever tired to learn new things
A lways busy Mum ;)

I'm a creative, uncomplicated person, open to get to know new cultures and costums. I'm up for things, I've never done before in my life!

I lived 11 years in Vienna (University and job at the Italian Cultural Institute). In 2012 I moved back to my hometown Mauthausen, where I live happily with my husband and our little daughter.

I loved to live in the city, but I've never regretted moving back to my hometown.

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." (St. Augustine)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like the idea that persons from all over the world, with a different cultural background, different mother languages, different religions and different mentalities get connected by CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In June 2011 I hosted my first CSer in my apartment. In July 2011 I was hosted by three awesome hosts in California (Monterey, Santa Barbara and L.A.). My first CS experiences were great. I met so many interesting people on my trip from San Francisco to San Diego. I think that was the best vacation ever, also because of CS!

Interests

MUSIC:
I play the violin, the guitar, the piano and percussions (more or less active). I am part of an orchestra and a choir.
DANCING:
I love to dance! And I mean every kind of dance, for example all the ballroom dances (standard and latin), like the waltz, cha-cha-cha, jive, rumba, ecc. Even if I haven't got an professional level, but I just love it!
SPORTS:
swimming and biking in summer - skiing and cross-country skiing in winter
TRAVELLING:
For years, I always traveled to Italy, because I was a babysitter in Rome in 2000/2001 and I felt in love with Italy. That's why I haven't been to many other countries. But in 2010 I decided that I'd like to discover the rest of the world too. I started with the United States (East Coast) and I was really surprised, because travelling is so amazing! I like to get to know new places even from an non-touristic aspect and that's why I love CS!

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES:
I go to the cinema very often and try to see all the movies in the original language. I am open for every type of movie, except horror movies.
MUSIC:
My favourite singers/groups are Snow Patrol, AIR, Gabin, Moloko, Morcheeba, George Michael, Jamie Cullum, Tanita Tikaram and italian singers/groups like Carmen Consoli, Negramaro, Ligabue, ecc.
BOOKS:
I love reading, but unfortunately I have never time to read. My favourite authors are Robert Harris, Dan Brown and Giorgio Faletti. I even like to read guidebooks of the cities and countries I'd like to see.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to dance the viennese waltz and how to make (or where to eat) the best Schnitzel. I'd enjoy to go with you to tipical austrian wine taverns, to taste good austrian wines!
