About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish my energy trading system. Also eat sushi that makes me cry. In a good way.

ABOUT ME

I'm a flex traveler, I love meeting people on my travels, and I'm also not averse to a luxury hotel. In the last year or two, I'm growing more interested in permaculture, issues of global sustainability and also just you know, like how cool it is to meet other cool people.

I mostly want to meet some interesting people and make new friends!

I'm married and have multiple kids 8 and under, so I don't travel as much as I used to. We're still working on the travel plan with the little ones around.

I'm obsessed with BitCoin and can talk about it at length, if you like. :)

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that there is never an excuse to treat others poorly. Love, kindness and respect always win.

I also think a day in which you don't learn something is probably a wasted day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'd love to get hosted by someone to see how it all works!

We don't get a ton of hosting requests, but we have a great spot for someone who wants to crash a couple days.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just complete virgin at this site. I've had the good fortune to meet a few people through random hospitality though.

The best couchsurfing hospitality I ever received was in a small village in Central Mozambique -- locals let me camp on their yard, and then (there were a bunch of us), slaughtered one of their only goats and made goat stew for all of us. Much appreciated!

Interests

Love to read, make new friends, play go <<<----, eat, cook, garden, shop at farmer's markets, learn a new vegetable I've never heard of before, make awesome coffee, play with my kids, suntan, do BitCoin-y things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Voracious reader, I can talk about most of the major literary elements of science fiction and fantasy in the last 100 years.

I used to read a bunch of lit fic, but not so much any more. Coetzee's Disgrace is unbelievable. Love Salinger, but also Nabokov.. Tastes in music are running to Jazz right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swum with untouched african coral -- an area of Mozambique had gone unfished since the 1970s; it was being dynamite-fished as we snorkeled the area. It's mostly dead now, I understand.

Free-diving in Hawaii,

Met and chatted with Krushschev's son Sergei..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach go, how to learn mathematics from the basics up through college math, english, parenting skills, programming skills, entrepreneurship (I've started many businesses), I am a very good amateur cook, and can teach the basics of souther italian, french, american, new american, and a bit of japanese, plus western-style baking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bermuda, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Ghana, Greece, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In
