ABOUT ME
About me, ok, I'm an Australian, easy to get along with, vegan (though not anally retentive about it), creative except for when it comes to writing these sorts of things, umm, what else? well i decided a ncouple of years ago that i was going to pack up my life in Australia and go and explore dear old planet Earth, see and do new things and meet new and exciting people and live and work in other countries. so now pretty much everything i once knew is packed, sold or quit and i am on my travel and it's just me and my laptop and as much stuff as i can cram into my backpack. It was all such a good idea at the time...
so far it's been interesting. I've had some great experiences and seen and done things i never dreamt of (or had nightmares about).
Things i am missing are friends/family my own bed, my garden and pot plants, being able to cook regularly, a washing machine, my far to often neglected sewing machine and art supplies and my books... well there are a few other things, but mostly it's all made up for by meeting and making new friends, being able to sleep out in the desert, seeing plants and things i'd never seen before (ie red carrots), eating all sorts of new and yummy things, relearning how to handwash, handsew, writing and taking photos instead of drawing or painting and reading on my Kindle.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Over the years i have on several occassions offered a couch or mattress to many travellers before i even heard about CS. as a result i have made several very close friends. I like to think there is a "what goes around comes around" karmic force in the universe and offering a couch when you have one to spare will mean good things when you're in need of a couch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since i have been travelling i have met and or surfed with many amazing people, i have made some wonderful friends and had some awesome experiences thanks to the CS network.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love sci fi... currently watching Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and original Star Trek..
Music - nothing to mainstream. Whilst i do love music i don't tend to walk around with earphones in so i just make do with whatever is going on at the time. faves are Neil Young, Dolly Parton, CocoRosie... there's lots.
Books - i LOVE my kindle... hmm, again, fantasy/sci fi... but it all depends. I just read Michael Chricton's Pirate Lattitudes whilst i was riding a camel in Rahjastan - a very interesting experience, kind of pirates of the carribean meets Lawrence of Arabia only set in India... Not sure what i'll read next.
