About Me

Reactivated this account after several years of inactivity, Couchsurfing still exists?? Leaving my previous About Me section below as a relic for now (and Dewey was just such a good cat). Much information is still relevant, I work in the music and theatre industry and am on the road every week or two. I have several homebase cities, and it recently occurred to me if I could find "my old Couchsurfing account" because what a cool thing to reintegrate into my work/travel experiences and networks??

CIRCA 2015
Hey, I'm Veronika! I'm currently using Colorado as a home base for travel!

I'm a singer, dancer, and actress. I have taught snowboarding at Loveland Ski Resort for a few years. I really enjoy traveling and exploring sustainable means of agriculture and primitive skills.

I have a cat named Dewey!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm returning to Couchsurfing now because it sounds fun to "pad" my work travel with the Couchsurfing network. Personally, Couchsurfing provides access to better/healthier resources for me in the common eating out, hotels, etc. that happen with work travel. Also, culturally feels more responsible and one of the many strategies to reducing negative envorinmental/socio-economic impacts by travel. I used Couchsurfing in my college years to explore and learn, and now it also feels like a powerful strategy for good things!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In September of 2014 I hiked 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail with an iguana!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I work a lot and I stay really focused on projects, some of the benefits of that is sharing really intentional time when I do get to visit with others, I'm a really good listener and love to deep dive about subjects we're passionate about! I also have really clear planning, morning and night routines and do my own thing (unless it's an intentional day/night off for fun and/or rest).

I am pretty decent at cooking and making things out of whatever is around. I know quite a bit about tea (and tisanes, or herbal teas) and other plants! Nerdy things like foraging, and plant medicinal/utilitarian uses. I'm certified in some rigging and ropes access things, so I have enjoyed setting up slacklines for hosts/friends or having knot-tying parties, etc. I have a lot of experience with music, I especially love folk and heritage music and can share songs, have gotten excited about empowering others to learn songs/sing/be musical, or creative in other ways. I believe in skill-sharing in general and happy to offer whatever I know.

Let me know if you're trying to hang speakers in a DIY venue or need someone to run the PA system for a yoga class, etc. :)
