About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel and meet people. No need to be wacky or imaginative, I know what I want.
ABOUT ME
Let's see now. My name is Victor Guerra. My mom's maiden name is Virgen, which in spanish means virgin. Kinda cool because my last name means War and obviously Victor just means Victor. I'm of Hispanic descent, 1/4 spanish, and 3/4th lost history (the winners of war write history, you know? not the losers) I grew up in Los Angeles but go to school in San Diego. I'm currently studying abroad in Utrecht, Netherlands, but will leave for home soon. I study Philosophy, Psychology, and Latin Literature. I'm in a long distance relationship with a lovely girl who I love to death, haven't seen in months, and is waiting for me back in California. We will have one year together May21st. :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Thus far, I have only been surfing. :/ If anyone wants a couch when I go back to San Diego tho I can totally offer to show you the sights and beautiful beaches!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not had many experiences so far, I've only couchsurfed in Bordeaux and Paris, but both of the experiences were memorable and I don't think I will easily forget the characters I met along the way (ie the hosts).
Interests
I love philosophy and learning, my dream is to one day become a professor and teach. I know this is what I want, because, the only way I can guarantee myself that I will learn significantly forever, til I die, is to start teaching. Or at least I feel that it is the most efficient way to go about it. If you don't like philosophy that's fine. Philosophy is my passion, but I try not to be the stereotypical American poli sci or philosophy student who has his nose up in the air and is constantly debating. That's not me. I like to listen to people's stories more actually. I do find however, that I tend to have better conversations with people who feel indifferent to philosophy or somewhat positive towards it.
I entertain myself by doing work with random philanthropies (I jump from organizations, such as Habitat for humanity and Teach For America) as well as Dancing (I love ballroom dancing and Folklorico) and playing piano.
Overall, I think I'm a cool laid back type of guy looking to see as much of the world as possible. Maybe not to see so much of the touristy stuff, but just to think, write, and read in new places. Being in a new place can usually inspire new thought and viewpoints, and I intend to exploit this.

Teach, Learn, Share
I got a piano last year for my birthday, June 1st. So I know some basics to playing and can teach those, but if you're a musician maybe you can teach me?
Also, just teaching me anything you might be studying, or anything you're interested in would be great too. People don't usually ask me to teach them stuff, since what I know best is Philosophy and I guess teaching philosophy, if you're not careful, can sound condescending. But I'm more than willing to share my views on some contemporary moral issues or famous thinkers.
I can also teach the basics to ballroom dancing or Capoeira if anyone is interested in that ha, :]
