ABOUT ME

"Apa khabar?!" is how we ask how do you do in my home country, Malaysia. I am an adventurous, outgoing, sociable and friendly young individual who loves to venture to new environments and adapt. Apart from this I am very self-motivated and I like being challenged out of my comfort zone.

Some random facts:
1. I played chess competitively at an international level, was ranked 2000+ in the world at one point.
2. Currently I play tennis for my university
3. I can sing you "teddy bear" by Elvis Presley
4. I am an introvert, and I am very confident in establishing 1 on 1 relationships
5. Pretty good at drawing and painting in watercolor, I can leave you a piece of my work if you are interested. :D

PHILOSOPHY

Taken from one of my favorite text:
"This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don't like something, change it. If you don't like your job, quit. If you dont have enough time, stop watching tv. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; They will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what your passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them. So go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion.

Through action! I believe active participation is my best way of learning. This is why i enjoy traveling as it allows me to participate with the new environment I am living in, forcing me to learn and adapt to my new surroundings and its' people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My current goal in my undergraduate experience is to go to a country in every continent before I graduate. So far i am doing well! But the profiles here on Couchsurfers scare me a little some have already been to all 5. :S I have backpacked through west europe for 3 weeks this last summer in ireland, england, france, italy, switzerland and germany. The highlight of this trip was hiking the Swiss Alps in Switzerland.
Following this, i interned in Istanbul, Turkey for 2 months under AIESEC. This was a great experience for me and you and I are going to have to sit down and have a conversation about this as there is too much for me to narrate here.
I have also studied abroad to China and Brazil in 2010 and 2011 respectively. I was in a business case study competition in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro during summer 2010. That was my first experience working with foreign students on an international issue. This first experience was my first discovery of my love for traveling and learning about foreign cultures.
I then decided to go to China for Winter 2010/2011, from december 2010 to january 2011. This was a great experience too. I got to climb the Great Wall of China, visit the Olympic Park and visit the streets of Shanghai. I hope we can share our travel stories together!

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to represent my country in chess! I played extensively and my current world ranking is 2000+. Apart from this I play tennis for my university. I speak English and Malay extensively, and am learning portuguese and french right now. :)
