About Me

Hi all! My name is Viacheslav (Slava for friends) and I am from Russia. Biggest part of my life I lived in my home city, Bryansk, where I studied History (bachelor). Later I've decided that I didn't want to stay in Bryansk and i moved to Saint-Petersburg. There I studied museology (because I like culture and museums especially) and worked as a guide in Sheremetev Palace - Museum of Music. I was a guide there for 1 year and one day I decided to become a volunteer in the Europeane Solidarity Corps programme and I went to Belgium for 1 year. I worked at Music Fund, we collected old and broken instruments, repaired them and sent it in places, where people need these instruments to play music. Also we had many others social projects. I am happy when I can help people around me!

Now I live in Brussels, I'm studying again at the university. This time I study Political Science. I'll be happy to meet you and to show you around, drop me a message!

I have many hobbies (from gardening to history). Yes, I really like to grow vegetables and especially flowers. I also like history of art and cultural studies, sometimes I read a lot. Nature is my passion, I like to walk in the forests and make photos of flowers, plants, mushrooms and animals. I like sport, I go to the gym sometimes and recently I started to run.

I speak Russian, English and French. I'm studying Dutch now. I don't smoke (only seldom during a party with friends I can smoke one cigarette or a bit of weed). Sometimes I drink alcohol, mostly beer or wine.

If you want to know something else about me, feel free to ask :)

PHILOSOPHY
Dream on!
I always learn new things because I like doing it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to communicate with people from different countries, to make friends, to learn languages, and to share travel experience. I think that travelling with CS is more intresting, because it allows to be not alone in a new place, to spend time with locals, to know some traditions of different cultures.

My motto: "Make peace not war". And I dream that one day people could live happily all together without wars, violence, borders, gender/orientation stereotypes etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can win my fear and go to my dream, it is my superpower =)
When I was in a volunteer camp on Crete, Greece a few years ago, we went to swim in a mountain river and we jumped off a small cliff into a large pool below. I was quite scared, I jumped with guys and I still remember this moment. I was full of adrenaline!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you to learn Russian language or history. I can speak with you about classical literature. I can share my knowledge about houseplants or to help you with gardening. I also can tell you something intresting about art, culture, museums and something about my travels. And I know how to cook some tasty food! As we live in a difficult times, we can speak about politics too. I came to Belgium 1 week before Russia attacked Ukraine, it shocked me and change my life a lot.
