ABOUT ME

I was born in Waterford, Ireland and lived there 'till I was about 4. I then moved to Tipperary and this is where I grew up. I study English and German. I have always been a big music, film and book lover. Love the English language and Germanic languages in general. German has been my favourite language since I started at 12. I am currently on Erasmus(exchange) in Germany and I love it. I also find romantic languages very beautiful and would like to learn one in the future. I particularly love Irish Literature(in English) and would consider this my specialty :) At times I can be quite shy but I really love meeting new people and seeing new places and hope to follow this through in the future with the help of couch surfing :)

PHILOSOPHY

It may be a trite thing to say but just try your best to live life too the full. Sometimes our personalities may hold us back but we can't help who we are. Just hope for the best, destiny will take care of everything :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think anyone who joins this cause is making a very valuable contribution to something wonderful where many people from many different countries can meet each other at a lower cost and with less effort. I would be really happy to help people who would like to improve their English and even give an insight into the differences we have in Ireland. Also for anyone interested in Irish Culture I would also be very happy to discuss it as I love my country and in turn I would love to discover other cultures and languages.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have heard so many stories from people telling how they met such really cool people through couch surfing. My friends do a lot of hosting and I am benefiting greatly from this. Friends of mine have also done a lot of surfing themselves and they have all said how awesome it was so I really want to take part in this experience.

Interests

Love many different kinds of music including Classical, Rock, Metal, Electro, Hip-Hop. Also love to play guitar. Really love movies too, mostly old ones, particularly gangster and indie low-budget movies. Stanley Kubrick would be my favourite director. Also love Tarantino, French New Wave, Many German and Irish Films. Really love literature too particularly Irish e.g Swift, Wilde,Joyce, Beckett, Kavanagh. Also many British, American and German Authors.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Godfather - Greatest film ever made. Closest thing to perfection I've ever seen :)
Huge fan of the bands Tool and and heavy music in general e.g. Deftones, Nine Inch Nails.
Of course Ulysses by Joyce and Waiting for Godot by Beckett. Also grew up with the Harry Potter Series. Also big Stephan King fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My exchange year in Germany is definitely the most amazing thing I have ever done. I have met so many wonderful people and seen many different places. You really gain experience from doing something like this and also friends from all over the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Meeting people from different cultures is a truly great experience as these people have a wide variety of knowledge that can be very beneficial to others. I am really excited to take part in this.
