I'd like to meet people from the destinations I'm visiting to learn more about their life and to understand the culture better and to share info on the U.S.

I'm a relative newbie to couchsurfing, and am looking forward to meeting locals and learning more about places first-hand. I was a backpacker/hosteler in my 20s and miss the interactions with people when traveling that you don't get if not staying in hostels.

Some interesting things about me: I've traveled to over 80 countries on 6 continents, including three long-term (multiple month) travel trips; been a vegetarian for over 35 years; rode camels in Egypt at the pyramids in Giza and in Rajasthan, India; rode horses in Scotland, Iceland, and Petra; rode donkeys in Egypt in the Valley of the Kings and in Indonesia; and rode an elephant in Thailand (although I wouldn't do that now that I know how the elephants are treated); tried scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia; was a tribal bellydancer for 4 years and a metaphysical life coach for 2 years.
