Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

I am still someone with a kid's goal -- to be able to help the world one day at a time.

ABOUT ME

I am an open person and one who wants to help people. Some day I hope to work for the Make A Wish Foundation, helping make dreams come true for those who strive to live life to the fullest. I am Chinese-American, and hopefully will be able to one day connect back with my roots and understand more what my parents went through and what it was like growing up when and where they did.

I am pretty adventurous, but sometimes I don't seem it. I have a lot of stories to tell, but am not too quick to share, so please ask me questions and I am more then happy to spill the beans.

I am forward but respectful. I would love to visit all the countries in the world, but I am doing it at my own pace.

PHILOSOPHY

"Smile and know you are loved."

I think that this is a good philosophy because it reminds people, even during the bleak times, that there is someone somewhere out there that is thinking about you. And that is something to smile about.

"I wait for the day when someone asks a kindergarden child to draw a person and they ask 'what color should I use for the skin'"

I think that racism and ethnocentrism is a big problem even today. I hope that people can really judge people based on their qualities and not on their outward appearance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed a few times now. My first time was actually in Vietnam and it was an awesome experience. We still keep in touch and I helped him with a trip to Europe (since I lived there for a year). I have also stayed with some people in Japan, China, Costa Rica and the US as well. I love this site! It is amazing the people you meet!

Interessi

I love to travel and hope to see all parts of the world. My goal is to live in at least 5 different countries before I die. I am interested in a variety of things such as: cooking, painting, listening to music, and learning new languages.

Musica, film e libri

I am NOT into anything scary. I am a simple person when it comes to entertainment. I enjoy dramas, maybe something I can connect with, and I also love romance and comedies.

I am currently reading a book called "The Undomestic Goddess" which is a fun read. But my next book is going to be about Mao (something my friend gave me and I have yet to flip open). I know, so random, but I am trying to widen my perspective, also I think I should know more about China, since that is my background!!!

In a nut shell, I am difficult to pin point, and I enjoy a wide range of things . . .

Ah, but I love most if not all movies with Drew Barrymore. She is awesome and I love her in the Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler!

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I have had a chance to bungy jump at the place where the sport originated, Taupo, New Zealand.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I totally agree! I think that this organization is a phenomenal one, and I hope to meet a lot of people that I can learn from. I have lived a well rounded life, but it is not over yet! I plan on moving around and seeing the world, in order to help build a bridge between all cultures. I have been able to travel Europe (Living in Holland for a year) and I am currently living in Japan. I can talk about anything ranging from culture, to economics to health care and disease prevention. I have a passion for learning, but more so outside of the textbook and more based on real life experiences.

I hope to learn about anything! I have no boundaries, I would love to learn about fishing, astrology, history, who developed velcrow, really, anything!
