About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To meet new friends from all around the world

ABOUT ME
I love learning new things and meeting new people. I love good coffee, olive oil, beer, and wine. I believe laughter is key to forming friendships. I have had a wide variety of jobs and experiences, now adding world travel to the list. I have raised three amazing children to adulthood, returned to college to finally complete my undergrad degree and explore some different cultures. I have volunteered as a conversation partner in my university's ESL program, and also have volunteered with local food banks and homeless shelters. I have overcome many obstacles to become a middle-aged foreign exchange student. Nothing is impossible if you want it enough!

PHILOSOPHY

I consider myself a traveler, not a tourist. I want to learn about a new place from the view of the locals, events from the perspective of participants, and ideas from the source. And I am a strong believer in kindness and karma.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE
I would love to meet people traveling to Missoula, Montana USA. We can speak in English or Spanish or both.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of genres of all of these, although lately I find myself watching more foreign and independent films and listening to Latin guitar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen (survived) -75 degrees F in Alaska, snorkeled at Molokini in Maui, driven busloads of drunk college students on Halloween, traversed the entire Alaska Highway twice, converted a historic cabin into a handicapped-accessible restroom in Yellowstone Park, there is so much more!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love tutoring and speaking with people who are learning English and cooking new dishes with others. I am always excited to spend time with someone who can help me improve my Spanish speaking skills!
