to live in as many countries as possible, learn as many languages as possible and make friends from all over the world

ABOUT ME

Well, I am basically a guy who loves traveling, speaking foreign languages and learning about other cultures. I am quite easy-going and open-minded. I guess that when good people meet up, it really does not matter where they come from. I like studying (a bit of everything, but mainly Linguistics), reading (a lot) and making new friends. I have a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics (Brazil), an M.A in Computational Linguistics (Germany), and am about to finish a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Technology (Iowa State University, USA). I like music, dancing and just enjoying life, basically. Oh, and of course, a glass of beer goes down well with a nice chat!

PHILOSOPHY

Try to be as good a person as I can be in this world and always be true to myself, never hurting (as much as this is possible..) anyone on the way. In addition, try to make the world a better place by fostering understanding and ethics amongst people, but showing that we are actually one.

Movies: Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Vanilla Sky, What Dreams may Come, Crash and others.
Music: Rock, Samba, Pop, Bossa Nova, Classical (some), etc. Some bands are A-ha, Coldplay, Nena (german singer), Silverchair, Paramore, Josh Rouse, Dave Mathews Band, Foo Fighters, Mahler (classical), Joao Gilberto (brazilian bossa nova singer) and others.
Books: wow, impossible to write here. But some are The Selfish Gene, Blank Slate, The Kyte Runner and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got to the finals of an International Public Speaking Competition in London.
Saw an exorcism in South Africa.
Saw 5 lions just a few meters from me and they were not being held by anything...
Jumped off a bridge in Geneva, Switzerland into a river!
