Hi, I am Victor Getty!

I'm a Chinese Indonesian from Surabaya and Jakarta. I'm currently a Physics and Math student from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

I wanted to travel to places that I have not been before, try new things, and more importantly, listen to everyone's unique story and view of life! I love to listen to other people's story and what they are passionate about. I believe that getting to know other people who have very different view than me is interesting!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and meeting new people. Although I am an introvert, I am interested and love to listen to other people's story and interest! I am on Couchsurfing because I wanted to know their unique story about their own country, their life experience! I love to get new friends all over the world!

I'm interested in intellectual discussion maybe science and technology. I also love history and politics. I always ask like why something become the way it is. I'm always asking why and a bit skeptical about a lot of things. I like to make logical connection among things!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a fan of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. They are both best friends and their song is so goooodd!

I read books, fiction, and non-fiction. I read Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson. I read business, psychology, biography, such as Elon Musk. I read Quora every day haha!

My favorite movies are Christopher Nolan's Inception, Batman Series, Interstellar, La-La Land! Thriller film with plot twist is the best!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered in India for months and lived there with 30 orphanages, I went there with the money I made myself working part time in the summer...

I solo backpacked across the US and Canada for two and a half months. A lot of wonderful experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in everyone's view of life, how they wanted to be in the future, what are their dreams and what are the things that they are passionate about.

I can teach you my language if you want haha. I can also share my story!

I think I am more interested in learning from other people, I am a listener and learner by nature haha! I am looking forward to learning from you! I would love to talk and share the story with my host and know you better during the day or at least at night if you are busy. I think this is the purpose of couchsurfing. If I just eat and sleep at your home, it will not have any differences from Airbnb or hostel. Let share our story!

I can think of a number of things to provide my hosts with, but I would love to know what it is you would like from me. Is there candy or food I can bring? I can help clean up your place or any mundane things that you are lazy to do. I don't see couchsurfing.com as an entirely free service; I will definitely want to repay you in any way I can. Just let me know. I feel bad if you help me and I can't help you.

I'm always thankful if you can host me. If you want to bring me around the city, I'm thankful, but you don't need to. If you want to cook me a breakfast, I'm thankful, but you don't need to. If you want to pick me up from the terminal, I'm thankful, but you don't need to. You help me by providing me a place to stay and I won't ask for more.
