About Me
Hello! I’m Victor and I like to talk about many things, but the most interesting to me are science, music, animals and history. When I was seven-years-old I got my first computer and I have playing with this kind of thing ever since. As result, I work at IBM and I’m about to graduate in Computer Engineering. But, fortunately, my life is not all about computer and math. I also enjoy hiking, which releases my mind from all logical and technical stuff I have to handle. I also play bass guitar, and I love to cover my favorites rock bands. Furthermore, I really appreciate the combination of a good beer and a nice talk. I think that these two things together can be better than many nightclubs and expensive bars. I like to know people and share experiences, and I believe that every person has something to teach. It can be about how an plain works to the best way to make an origami. In my opinion, the smartest people are those who can see this potential on the other person and learn the maximum from it.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite musical style is rock! I really enjoy many rock bands from 60’s to 80’s such as Dire Straits, Supertramp, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Eagles, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I like the energy and the amazing solos that can be created in the rock, but I also enjoy some reggae music to chill a little bit. In Brazil we have excellent reggae bands such as Mato Seco and Ponto de Equilíbrio. In general, I appreciate any type of music, but the song must have some meaning. I nowadays, the industry of music uses too much technology on the songs, and this depreciate the quality of music.
About books, I like fantasy: Eragon, Deltora Quest, Percy Jackson, and suspense: Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes. I enjoy reading about dragons, castles and magic, because I feel that I’m taken to another world, where everything is possible.
Some of my favorite movies are: Pulp Fiction, A Beautiful Mind, Into the Wild, March Of The Penguin, Schindlers List, Bicentennial Man, Shutter Island, Matrix.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The greatest thing I have done was live for a year and two months on the United States at University of Evansville. In 2013, I applied in a scholarship program from Brazil, which provided the opportunity to study bachelor degrees in another country. After one year sending documents to United States and traveling do São Paulo sometimes, I received the final answer. I was accepted, and my new home would be Evansville, more precisely, at the campus of the University of Evansville. I loved all my time there. I could meet people from different countries, and I could learn a little bit with each one. When I was accepted, I thought that my improvement would be as a student, because I was going to a very good university, but the part of me that really changed was the personal. During my time at UE, I had to trust in my friends and I also received this responsibility, so I learned a lot. I carry all those good memories and I never forget the precious lessons that I learned.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some nice facts about Brazil and its culture. I live in a big country, so we have many different cultures in our territory. From one state to another, there are different conducts and accents. I can also tell about my experience living in the United States as a student at the University of Evansville. I learned a lot about their culture and I have nice stories about the life on campus. In my time living there, I made a road trip and I visited many cities in the United States such as San Francisco, Miami, New Orleans, Chicago, Indianapolis, and others. I can tell my adventures on those cities. Furthermore, I can teach how to dance samba and try to explain what is going on with the computing nowadays.
