I'm a Cuban-American from Miami, FL, currently a law student at the University of Virginia. I'm a violinist, studied musicology, also spent two years as a Spanish teacher, and a year living in Germany. Like any CSer, I absolutely love to travel. Life is great and travel makes it even better.

PLEASE NOTE: I ONLY accept surfers with multiple references for my own comfort and safety! Furthermore, I tend to accept surfers who are actually traveling, want to hang out, and took the time to read my profile. Couchsurfing is not just a free hotel but a community to connect with great people! I am a very busy person so I do this because I like to meet and support travelers, so I likely won't take the time when it sounds like you have no interest in the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a huge fan of CS, have only had the most incredible experiences surfing and hosting. It's so important to me to meet locals and learn about their cities. Traveling is not just about seeing pretty sights. Love the culture of CS, meeting people who are so giving and helpful, and also love travel. As someone who has surfed a good bit, but now busy with school, I love being able to host and return the hospitality that has been shown to me.

Interests

Music. I love going to concerts, playing violin/guitar/singing (I'm in a local cover band!), being with loved ones, dancing, meeting new people, traveling of course, reading good books/articles/essays/poems, improving my German, working out, trying new food and beer, overall trying to live life to its maximum potential.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- Huge range, a sample would be: Shostakovich, Robert Johnson, Miles Davis, Peter, Paul, & Mary, Jimi Hendrix, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Shins, Cachao, Rage Against the Machine, Slayer, Excision, Flume, Ratatat, Slightly Stoopid, and so on.... I tend to think there is good music in every genre.

Movies- Dead Poets Society, The Lives of Others (Das Leben den Anderen), The Lost City, The Usual Suspects, Into the Wild, West Side Story, The Red Violin, The Kite Runner, The Virgin Suicides (both of these the books as well), any Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Coen Brothers... Etc etc.

Books- Faulkner - As I Lay Dying, Knowles - A Separate Peace, Hemingway - Old Man and the Sea, Hugo - Les Miserables, Dumas - Count of Monte Cristo, Vonnegut - Cat's Cradle, Burgess - A Clockwork Orange... List goes on. In general I adore poetry... From Lorca to cummings to Heine.
