About me? Tell me about you! I love to connect with people and hear their wacky stories (we've all got one).

I've studied literature, philosophy, massage, counselling... languages, a little (thanks YouTube!) and now I'm a high school English teacher. Thought I'd better do something grown up for once....

Also, I love being outside... (it's torture for me to be inside when it's sunny!) Walking/being active as much as possible... (really keen for long distance walks/trails... unfortunately have a terrible sense of direction.. oh well!)

What else? I of course love sampling whatever food-drink-art-music a place has... but I'm also of an age now where I appreciate the simple pleasure of an early night!

Saying that, I like to be open to the moment... "Why not" is sort of my mantra -- for better or worse!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way of meeting interesting people. And I've had insights into places I would never have had thanks to my new local pals. I've hopefully managed to do the same for a few too and there's nothing like showing someone round to make you appreciate what you've got on your own doorstep.

I love hostels too and often do a mixture when travelling because I like to be independent but I think it's important to try and see how people in a place live. Workaway is great too for that (and I like to be able to give something back) but tends to require longer stays so for quick visits -- Couchsurfing it is :)

But I really love dancing!! And getting in the zone to music.

Movies -- I'll confess, I don't watch nearly enough of them as I should. Maybe you can share your faves with me.

Books? I studied literature but again, I don't read half as much as I'd like to!! Shame on me. Love it all though, really. The classics, historical fiction, dystopian, memoir, poetry anthologies... you name it, I'll give it a shot!
