About Me

I live in Germany, but currently travelling Australia :)

Hi everyone, I am Vicky and I am looking for people to share experiences, stories, to play boardgames and to explore life on our beautiful planet!

COUCHSURFER EXPERIENCE: I did a lot of Couchsurfing between 2011 and 2018 and I love it so much! It gave me the best experiences and I made most of my friends on my journeys through couchsurfing and cs-meetups.
HOST EXPERIENCE: I was a host in Scotland in 2018 <3

WHY IS MY PROFILE SO RECENT?
I messed up my passwords and e-mail addresses after taking a 5 years break from travelling. I just cannot acces my old accont anymore, all the contacts and my excellent references are gone. :( So I got back on, five years later, for this journey. I am looking forward to hosting you, too, once I have my own place!

I am keen to learn about plants, animals and nature. At the moment, I am exploring Melbourne and Australia - and I cannot wait to meet other people! Locals and travellers!
I love reading and writing, although I should do more of it, I love cooking and learning - there are so many amazing things to learn about! - I love speaking languages, gardening, talking to animals ;-), movies, singing and dancing! How about you? I also play the accordion and the piano. I used to do ballet, when I was a teenager, but it surely wasn't my greatest talent ^^'
I am currently learning about healing magnetism and permaculture, and animal communication.
I am a huge animals and cats fan! I do clicker training with my cats - have you heard of it before?
And I am very interested in the plants and trees in my surroundings, always wanting to find out about their names and what they are good for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was on Couchsurfing from 2012 to 2020 and made some wonderful experiences and friends:

My Couchsurfing journey:
2012: Côte d'Azur, France (Nice, Grasse, Antibes)
2013: Edinbourgh, Scotland
2015: Valencia, Spain
2017: Colmar, France
2018: Manchester, Edinbourgh, United Kingdom
2018: I hosted couchsurfers in Edinbourgh, Scotland.

I love it so much! And wherever I lived - France, Spain, Germany, England, Scotland, Australia -, the Couchsurfing Community has been the best place to start new friendships and learn about life.
I like to travel for language and cultural exchange and this has always been the best way to get to know likeminded people, funny and interesting, to share a laugh and a good story. :D So let me know if you want to meet up!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, of course.
The 13 1⁄2 Lives of Captain Bluebear and all the books by Walter Moers
reading interesting life stories
Forrest Gump, Dune (movie), French movies, Hunger Games
so many more, can't decide :D Old Mickey Mouse comic books and cartoons.
I love the Eragon series!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year in France, half a year in Spain, almost a year in Edinbourgh, and am going to spend a year in Australia. But the best time I had was when I lived in Spain, Barcelona for those 6 months. I was teaching German as a Foreign Language - that's how I found my profession - and lived in a shared flat with a magician. It was so weird and so funny! It is the city of my dreams and I would love to go back there one day. You can't spend a day in Barcelona without stepping into an adventure and Gaudís architecture, the climate, the medieval flair and the friendly people from all over the world are the ideal combination for some lifechanging moments! :-) You should go there if you get the chance.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn languages. I studied French, English and Spanish. German is my mother language. I am currently trying to learn Russian. I am also learning about biomagnetic healing (energy healing with hands). I want to learn about permaculture in Australia and am also learning animal communication. I love to do clicker training with my cats - yes, you can teach them tricks just like dogs ;-) - and want to spread the joy!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am ready to listen to your stories and share my experience! I love to cook and bake and I can teach you some German/French/Spanish. I also know how to do friendship bracelets and can teach the technique, it's so much fun! And I can teach you simple pieces on the piano or accordion. :-)
