About Me

Hi! I enjoy hiking, camping, and learning about the natural history of places I visit. I love biology, especially entomology and botany. Nature photography and journaling inspire me. Bluegrass and the Grateful Dead get me dancin :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love hosting, and when I settle down in a few months I look forward to doing so. Right now, on a post-college road trip, sometimes I find myself looking for a new friend and a place to crash. This site should help facilitate such relationships.

Interests

Finding wild, native, edible food is a great hobby, along with appreciating and identifying fungi, plants, and animals. In 2014 I hiked 1000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail in California and Oregon; long distance hiking os awesome. Seeing live music is one of my favorite pastimes as well - bluegrass, jam, jazz and more. I love to cook and try new foods!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite bands include Yonder Mountain String Band, Poor Man's Whiskey, the Dead, Turquaz, and String Cheese Incident. I also love house, electronic, latin, and jazz. I like Across the Universe and the Prestige... Adventure Time has a way of making me laugh. Ceremony by Leslie Marie Silko is a favorite book of mine - I like to read and discuss environmental literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two years ago I spent several months with my backpack and my significant other, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. We spent weeks relatively alone, hiking through National Forests, Parks, and other wilderness areas. I learned so much about myself during this experience, especially that I love long distance hiking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share a favorite recipe, some music, or a beer! I like to discuss the environment we're in, and what makes it special to each of us. I love to listen to another person's story, share experiences, and laugh.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am clean, and I love to lend a hand around the house!! We can cook together, or I can grab the snacks, the drinks, or supply the tunes. A new conversation with a new friend is an amazing time, and my boyfriend and I love to talk and listen.
