About Me

I love to travel and to experience new places and new people. I'm positive, outgoing, and upbeat, and I believe its never a bad time to make a new friend! After earning my BA at Lycoming College in Pennsylvania (USA), I moved to Sheffield (UK) to complete my MA and am now working on my PhD at the University of Leeds (UK) in Medieval History. My subjects of interest are archaeology, history, and writing (historical fiction shaped my appreciation for the past when I was younger). I absolutely love animals, especially dogs, and see having a pet as a plus. I've been on multiple archaeological excavations, both at Tel Gezer, Israel and at Thornton Abbey, England.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Again, I like to meet new people and to travel to places I haven't been, so this site is perfect! I'd love to host eventually, but living in student accommodation or temporary housing during the summer makes this problematic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I discovered a medieval bone-handled dagger while on an archaeological excavation in England.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about the US and the UK, as well as my academic interests, can share my cooking/baking/sewing skills, and am interested in learning as much as possible from my hosts!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to show my appreciation by baking cookies (or other goodies) and/or cooking meals. And I can also do some simple clothing alterations. :)
