ABOUT ME

I am friendly and chatty. I love to climb/ go mountaineering and I will go at least once a week. I use to go to regularly to a place two hours outside of Madrid called Cuenca. It is a place full of sport climbing. I am hoping to go to the alps and the Pyrenees this summer.

I am always ready to try new things at least twice (once to get over any shock, once to see if I really enjoy it). A recent thing I tried was going on a field trip to search for rare species of frogs in the dark with a head torch.

I like to travel and see new places. One of my favourite places I went to last year was Iceland. One of the reasons I wanted to go there was to go horse riding and buy an Icelandic jumper. I now wear my Icelandic jumper with pride.

My favourite way of getting to know a new place is to work there. Every volunteer and study/research job that I have got has been either in rural places in Scotland or interesting places in Europe. Currently I am exploring Madrid.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that you should always try things twice. The first time is to try and the second time is to decide whether what you are trying is something you like and you would like to do again.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I share a flat with three other people and three cats. We don't have a common area and I don't have a spare bed. Because of this I cannot host anyone, but I am happy to meet up in the evenings and weekends. You are also welcome to join me in any activities I am doing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a girl in Bruge, Belgium, a couple in Brussels, Belgium, with a guy in Iceland and Marseille too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love French films. When I lived in Paris I went to the cinema regularly. I like everything from the French comedies to their films which just describe a small section of a person's life.

I like to listen to music from artists such as Johnny Cash to artist like the black Eyed Peas and also Scottish folk such as the Peak Bog Faeries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every new years day I go mountaineering with some friends. We always aim to be at the top of the mountain so that we can see the sunrise.
